KAL - Wild Vanilla & Yacht Club Skirt September 2012

 Hello There Everyone!!!

Elena has invited me to be a guest contributor for her blog.  Many of you will know me as JanHarvey on Ravelry.com, and as a moderator of Anadiomena's Knitting Adventures forum there.   I have been a friend of Elena's for nearly two years now, and consider myself very lucky to have been involved in Elena's creative process during that time helping with the testing and editing of her patterns.

September is looking like it will be a busy month not only in my house but in many of yours too as our children prepare to go back to school this week.  Are your children looking forward to being able to catch up with their friends too?

More fun than that though is the KAL that Elena is hosting within her Ravelry group for Wild Vanilla and Yacht Club Skirt.

Please join us for some fun!

There will be Prizes for the KAL - the winners get to choose some yummy yarn from Colour AdventuresWhat would you choose?

Both Wild Vanilla and Yacht Club Skirt are ideal garments for the chilly fall/autumn mornings and back-to-school wear.  They both feature elegant cable designs and are sized from baby up to 14 years old.

Yacht Club Skirt is a classic design and looks equally as good in a solid colour or jazzed up with up to 3 colourways.  As the skirt is knitted topdown and is seamless it is easy to adjust the required length.

Yacht Club Skirt is suitable for wool and cotton yarns in a DK to Aran weight.

Your little girls will love twirling and dancing in this.

Wild Vanilla has an interesting construction ensuring the knitter is kept engaged.  The resulting vest is an ideal layering piece for every girls wardrobe looking elegant both for more formal school wear or for having fun at the park.

Just look at the close up of the cablework knot on the front of Wild Vanilla - Pretty!!

The Verdant Gryphon has a yarn promotion for the month of September 2012 linked to Wild Vanilla.  Everyone who has purchased Wild Vanilla will receive a code to get 20% discount off 2 or more regular priced skeins of Traveller in her webshop, the code is valid until September 30th 2012.

A KAL is a KnitALong where lots of like minded people get together to knit and make the same project at the same time, the KAL is an ideal time to ask questions, discuss yarn choices and colour combinations.  A KAL is a brilliant motivator to get going and complete a project using a design you may have admired for some time but perhaps need a little extra support to complete which is why I also like to think it means Knit And Learn because every time I have participated in a KAL I have learnt something, hopefully you will too.  We love to see your progress as your project develops and share the ohh's and aww's as you reach the finish line.

We would love you to join in too with the KAL including cheering everyone on from the sidelines! Hope to see you there
