Sand Dance Skirt

My “Sun and Sand” collection will take you on a journey to hot exotic places: places like Kara Kum desert, the ancient monuments of majestic and beautiful Samarkand city, to the shores of Mediterranean Sea, and to the colorful markets of Middle East, places from my childhood memories.
“Sand Dance” skirt is my vision of dancing sands under the hot breath of a desert, and of sparkling turquoise waters of oasis, and of beautiful lapis lazuli mosaic.

The skirt can be knit in any yarn weight (fingering, dk, worsted, etc…), however certain yarn weights are better suited for certain sizes but not the others. The pattern is written for:

Fingering (4 ply): 6 m to 1-3T

Dk (8 ply):  1-3T to 6-8 years

Worsted (10 ply): 2-4T to 12-14 years

Notions:

• 3.5 mm (for fingering/4ply), or 4.0 mm (for dk/ 8ply), or 4.5 mm (for worsted/10ply) circular needles (40, 60 cm) or size to obtain gauge;

• Crochet hook for provisional cast on (optional);
• 1 stitch marker  to indicate the beginning of the round;
• 2 stitch markers in different color for short rows shaping (optional);
• Darning needle (optional);
• ¾ inch elastic band (actual length required = actual waist measurement – 2 inches)
