Tropical Fish Skirt

I am very pleased to announce that I have added another skirt to the list of my designs, Tropical Fish Skirt.

"My little Maya is all about skirts and dresses, twirling, dancing, and singing.  She also feels very strongly about having rainbow clothes, and was delighted with this skirt more than anything else.

I hope that your own twirling, singing, and dancing little girls will like this skirt just as much.

The skirt is knit entirely in the round from top down.  It begins with a provisional cast on, which is used to allow for a knitted on waistband. There are two distinct sections in the skirt construction: A-line top portion and the twirly bottom part. The top portion is constructed in a way as to accommodate any size and shape. Both sections can be easily adjusted to give the skirt a custom length."

Tropical Fish Skirt is also available as part of the Itty Bitty Pool ebook.

The pattern is written for DK (8ply) and worsted (10ply) yarns; cotton or wool are equally suitable.

  1. Cute, cute, cute! Dumb question...did you use a self striping yarn or did you change colors 4 times (I'm guessing the later).
