Pepper

Pepper is a very playful and modern girl’s cardigan featuring cute pockets and simple lines.  It is a part of the “Spice Girls” series of cardigans designed for everyday wear, and each one has a little unique spice of their own.

The cardigan has a very simple construction – top down raglan, and double seed stitch gives the cardigan its peppery texture. It can be worked in a solid color or two colors for an extra contrast. There is a little bit of sewing required for the pockets and the collar, other than that it is completely seamless.

1.      21 sts x 29 rows = 10 cm/4x4 inches in double seed stitch pattern on 4 mm/US #6 needles or size to obtain gauge.

2.      22 sts x 29 rows = 10 cm/4x4 inches in stockinette stitch on 4.0 mm/US #6 needles or size to obtain gauge.

4 mm/US #6 circular needles (60, 80 cm) or size to obtain gauge;

3.5 mm/US #4 circular needles (30, 60, 80 cm);

3.5 mm/US #4 DPNs (optional);

3 mm/US #2.5 crochet hook for provisional cast on (optional);

4 stitch markers for raglan shaping;

2 stitch markers for marking front bands;

Minimum of 4 buttons (2-2.5 cm/¾ inch-1 inch wide) for sizes 12m to 6-7;
