Here are my visions:
1. Pants (unisex, but with an option to make them a bit more girly)- DONE!;
2. Skirt (little sailor girl skirt!) - DONE!;
3. Girly Sweater;
4. Manly Sweater (could be unisex too)
5. Vest (unisex and girlie versions) - working on.
I am also thinking to extend the size range from my usual sizings. I am aiming to make those garments available in newborn- 15 year old. Where is my calculator?
I haven't settled on the yarn for the prototype knitting yet, but my choices so far are:
1. Swish DK and Swish Worsted from KnitPicks (superwash);
2. Elite DK from Elle;
3. Northampton from Valley Yarns;
4. Zara from Filatura di Crosa (superwash);
I am most likely to settle on the superwash yarn though.
Right now I am doing a little research on the pants and skirt lengths for the sizes I am planning to cover. So if you have a child in the age group of newborn-15 year old (boy or girl), feel free to send me their measurements. I always prefer to work with real kids measurements rather than the standard department store ones.
I need hip, waist, and inseam for pants (length) measurements. I have all the ones that come from the department store, but seeing how I want to provide tables with actual measurements of hip and waist, and pants' length, I want to have a few real measurements on hand. I would be very grateful for all and any replies.
Time to start knitting so that I will be able to show you what only I can see for now.
Lena, I am happy to provide a set of measurements for 6-9ms and 9yr old. What measurements do you need?
ReplyDeleteI can give measurements for 2-4 year old (for boys). Which ones do you need?

ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the boy patterns!
ReplyDeleteI'll try to measure up my kids ;-)
I just found you and am so excited!! I knit for a charity all the time. I sell all of the baby clothes I knit and put the proceeds into an account to help build a church in Tanzania. I see on your sidebar that you allow knitting for charity. I hope you will not mind that I use some of your patterns for this project.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your generosity.
