La Isla Bonita Collection

La Isla Bonita is perfect for all year round; wear it over a favorite sundress in the cool summer evenings, or a posh dress for that special occasion, or simply over favorite top on the way to school or kindergarten.  The shrug is worked as a modified top down raglan and features ¾ length bell sleeves with optional striking cable work.

Unlike like the rest of the designs in my “La Isla Bonita” ebook that are made with DK gauge, this shrug is worked with sport weight gauge. However it still requires just one skein of fingering weight yarn for most sizes.

Sizes: 6 months - 14 years
Yarn: 200 - 725 yds of fingering to sportweight yarn

Ohh Summer cardigan is perfect for summer; wear it upon a favorite sundress in the cool summer evenings or on top of a bathing suit on a way to the beach.

The cardigan is worked as a top down raglan, features very simple lace that creates a very elegant look, and is completely seamless.

Sizes: from 12m-14 years.
Yarn: 250-625 yds of fingering to sports weight yarn.

Queen of the Waves

This little flirty top is a part of summer knits collection, “La Isla Bonita”, and as other pieces in the collection, it is knit with fingering weight/4-ply yarn to a DK gauge and requires just 1-2 balls of yarn.

Working with fine yarn to a bigger gauge creates a light, airy garment, and Queen of the Waves is all that – perfect little shrug. The shrug is worked as a top down raglan, features sliding belt buckle as a closure or button closures (you decide which suits you the best), and a Seafoam lace for sleeve cuffs (optional). Knitted on beads add a sparkle to the garment and are an optional feature, though come highly recommended by my water baby you see here.

Sizes: Newborn-14 years
Yarn: 170-440 yards of fingering weight

Shrugs and Kisses

My daughter is really into “tiny little shrugs” as she calls them. They are so easy to wear and she loves to wear them on top of her dresses to make them look “fancy” or on top of her T-shirt to make the outfit look “cool”.

Originally this shrug was published with Classic Elite Yarns as “Nala”, but now that copyright has reverted back to me, I am republishing this design with some slight improvements and additional sizes.

The design has slightly unusual construction, unique silhouette, and is easy to make for a beginner knitter while still challenging enough for a seasoned one.

We love this shrug to pieces!  I hope you will too!

Sizes: 12m-14 years
Yarn: 140-350 yards of DK

Zephyrus

Zephyrus is a very charming lacy vest that makes a great layering piece for all year round wear. Make it in fingering weight cotton to throw on top of a bathing suit or to dress up a T-shirt in hot summer months or make it in wool to dress up long sleeved cotton jerseys and polo-shirts in transitional weather or winter months.

The vest is knit seamlessly from the top down and features elegant Butterfly Wings Lace as an allover lace pattern for the top portion of the vest; then the lace gracefully transitions into the beautiful Butterfly Kisses Lace panels
.

As other pieces in the collection, it is knit with fingering weight/4-ply yarn to a DK gauge and requires just 1-2 balls of yarn.
