Graffiti Hat

Graffiti Hat is a really fun hat to make and to wear.

I was on a mission to create a design that is very unique, unisex and is suitable for all age groups, a design that will also allow me to use my multitude of left over yarns.  I love cables in my knits, and always look for different ways to incorporate cables into my designs in a creative, fun, and whimsical way.

This design made me think of a graffiti style artwork, it is like a blank canvas where you can get creative with colors, pair up the most outrageous combinations for a very stunning effect, let the colors scream and shout, thus creating your own knitting “graffiti”.

The hat is made beanie style and is completely seamless. It is worked from the brim up, where stitches are slipped and cabled along the way.

This design is a great way to start colorwork and to practice some basic cables.

Have fun and enjoy your colors!
