I am always looking for projects that use my left over yarns that I accumulate in various amounts, what with being an avid knitter and all.
I also always loved Missoni
designs, their crazy color combinations, and their oh, so famous stripes. The
idea to create Missoni inspired designs has haunted me since last spring, so I
finally put two and two together, and this gorgeous skirt is the result.

The
skirt is worked entirely in the round from top down. It begins with a provisional cast on, which
is used to allow for a knitted on waistband. There is also an option for short
rows shaping to allow for tummies or cloth diapers. The skirt requires very
minimal finishing, fun to make and fun to wear!
The
pattern is written for worsted weight yarn, but once you understand the
principle behind the design, it is very easy to customize for any weight yarn.

When choosing a size, please do not rely solely on
age categories. Measure your child, and choose the appropriate size and knit to
the length you desire.
