Summer Storm

This is a perfect summer vest for boys or girls; ideal to wear on a windy or a stormy day for that cozy feeling!

This vest is worked from the bottom up.  The vest features asymmetrically placed button bands.  This vest is unisex but depending on your button and color choice you can make it more girly or boyish.

Sizes Available: 
When choosing a size, please do not rely solely on age categories. Measure your child and choose the appropriate size.   About 2.5 cm/1 inch of positive ease is already incorporated into the pattern.

Length is measured from the underarm to the end of the hemline.

4 mm/US #6 circular needles (60 cm/24" or longer) or size to obtain gauge;

3.5 mm/US #4 circular needles (60 cm/24" or longer);

3.5 mm/US #4 circular needles (30 cm/12" or DPN's) optional;

4 stitch markers to mark shoulder/sleeve areas;

Waste yarn/stitch holders;

3 mm/US #2.5 crochet hook;

6 (6, 6, 7), (7, 8, 8), (8, 9, 9, 10) buttons that are 20 mm/0.75” wide.

Gauge:

22 sts and 28 rows in 10x10 cm/4x4” in stockinette on 4 mm/US #6 needles or size to obtain gauge.

25-26 sts and 28 rows in stitch pattern on 4 mm/US #6 needles or size to obtain gauge (unstretched fabric, i.e. at rest).
