Silversage

Introducing my newest design - a cute feminine shrug for all your little girls in sizes from newborn up to age 14 years.
Silversage is the newest design to be added to the Spice Girls 2 ebook whose main theme is in being a collection of functional, modern and practical layering pieces and cardigans.

Silversage is completely seamless and is worked from the top down using "contiguous set-in sleeves", this method allows for should shaping and set-in sleeve construction while avoiding the use of short rows.

Silversage is especially suitable for hand-dyed, variegated yarns, though it does look equally stunning in a solid colour too!Take a look at the special design elements used in this cardigan - there are options to have cabled cuffs for the sleeves be they short or long.  The shawl collar helps to reflect the shaping in the lower edges of the cardigan and may be fastened (if desired) by either a button or i-cord tie.

Yardage info is given with long sleeves in mind, for ¾ sleeves you will need 40-70 yards less.

If you are using 2 colors, the trim color is roughly 2/5 of the total amount given.

Gauge: 22 sts and 28-29 rows per 10x10 cm/4x4 inches in stockinette stitch on 4 mm/US #6 needles or needle size to obtain gauge.

Sweet Merino DK from Colour Adventures (100% merino; 229 m/250 yds in 113g/4.0 oz);

Cloud DK from Colour Adventures (100% merino; 211 m/231 yds in 100 g/3.5 oz);

Dia Merino DK from Colour Adventures (100%merino; 211 m/231 yds in 100 g/3.5 oz).

Notions:

4.0 mm/US # 6 circular needles (30 cm/12" or dpns; 60 or 80 cm/24" or 32") or size to obtain gauge;

3.5 mm/US #4 circular needles (100 cm/40");

4 stitch markers to mark shoulder/sleeve areas;

1 optional button (2.5 cm/1 inch wide);

Cable needle (optional);

Tapestry needle and sewing needle (optional);

Sewing thread (optional);

Waste yarn/stitch holders.
