I am proudly announcing the release of the first garment in the Back to the Sea collection - "Yacht Club Skirt"!
I am hoping it will become a fast favourite with your little girls, as it has become with us (my daughter owns 3 of them in different colors!). The skirt has a timeless element of cuteness, and an old time, everyone's favourite twirly factor.
The skirt is knit entirely in the round from top down. It begins with a provisional cast on, which is used to allow for a knitted on waistband. There are two distinct sections in the skirt construction: A-line top portion and the ruffled bottom part. The top portion is constructed in a way as to accommodate any size and shape. Both sections can be easily adjusted in length to give an overall length you want to make.
I have provided links to all the relevant tutorials and techniques, so if you are not familiar with any of them, here is your chance to try and succeed.
The pattern is equally suitable for cotton and wool, and as a result could be made for all year round.
