Lollipops and Raindrops was released today!
It is written for 13 sizes from 6 months to 14 years and is suitable for DK weight yarns - what style will yours be?
We would love to hear what you think of Lollipops and Raindrops and what options you would choose for yours!
Lollipops and Raindrops Dress is part of the Sun and Sand collection that takes you on a journey to childhood places, carefree days, fragrant summers, best friends, sweet treats, and never ending wonders.
The dress is completely seamless and is worked from the top down.
My favorite part about this design is that it allows you to stash bust your leftover yarns, it is also great for showcasing your prized variegated skeins you have been hoarding for a long time. The dress is equally amazing in gradient or self-striping yarns.
I have used an amazing technique developed by Susie Myers, “contiguous set-in sleeves”, that allows shoulder shaping and body construction without the use of a single short row.
Note on yarn: the pattern is equally suitable for wool and cotton yarns or their blends.

Such a cute dress with a lot or room for variation. I'd have to decide between a rainbow theme or a lovely variegated colourway with lots of purple...well, my daughter would need to decide.
ReplyDeleteTaswege
Love this ebook Elena!!! Thanks for the update today since I have been waiting for this pattern.
ReplyDeleteElena, this is so exciting with everything you are doing for this month. I can't wait to see what surprises are in store for the rest of it!
ReplyDeleteLove this pattern, would like to do the rainbow wide stripes for my Alina.
ReplyDeleteThe dress is great for scrappies! I don't have a girl, so I'd make one as a baby shower gift!
ReplyDeleteI really love this pattern, I made one for my little one and a tiny version for our neighbor :D and both of the dresses were worn a lot and still are. I made both with boat neck and A-line skirt but Naomi keeps telling me mommy I love the dress with lots of colors :D and I have a few more planned, the options here are endless and all the results are equally adorable <3
ReplyDeleteI love the version "flapper girl" of Elena and the third picture with trips...
ReplyDeleteMay be I'll knit a flapper girl for next summer...
Ravelry name: mayal
I can't wait to knit the patterns in the sun and sand eBook!! Especially the new lollipop dress!
ReplyDeleteThis dress is really cute! I particulary like the rainbow version with the A line. I like patterns that allow lot of variation like this one.
ReplyDeleteThank you for all the giveaways and promotions.

Another lovely pattern Elena. Would love to see it in purples. :D cat27m
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love this pattern! I've been stalking it in your projects for months ;)
ReplyDeleteYou never cease to amaze me Elena. More beautiful patterns to add to my wish list :-)
ReplyDeleteI love the drop waist version, I`ll most likely be doing that version, if the 3 year old approves.... *rolls eyes*
ReplyDeleteI love this pattern so much and it is such a great way to use scraps up. I think I'd love to do 2 bright rainbow ones for my twins. Colours such as Diva, Glacier, Fresh leaves, Pinktastic, Bleeding heart, lemon, mango, pirates treasure and ocean would look awesome! A variegated colourway like little mermaids and spring garden with trim would also be cool. Elena has so many colours to choose from it would be fun to make!
ReplyDeletehippiechild
I would love to win some Colour Adventures yarn. I have been wanting to try it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pattern. My daughter has been waiting for his one to be released.
ReplyDeleteI would definitely do a Rainbows and Lollipops dress in the colours of the rainbow, with a twirly skirt because my daughter loves to twirl!
ReplyDeleteAleshaM on Rav :)
Adorable patterns! Am working on my third, and eagerly anticipating #4!
ReplyDeleteI would do the option with the twirly skirt, my DD loves to twirl! I'd do the top half in a bright solid and then the bottom in a mix of funky colours to match my girlys personality!

I love this pattern - it is so versatile. I knitted the tunic version and it has been worn a lot and received lots of comments :) It is a nice bright fun way to use up leftover yarn and great for in between the seasons. I would love to make another summer version in cotton probably with a twirly or a-line skirt. I'm lynleyg on Rav.

Gorgeous dress with so many possibilities! I think I might make an A-line V necked minidress/long tunic in bright colours for my 12-14yo to wear over tights. And another with a swirly skirt for a 3yo...

My 11 yr old has been eagerly awaiting the release of this pattern as she loves the tailored look of the dress. My 4 yr old would adored the scrappy rainbow version. I need to quit working so hard at using up all of my yarn on projects and start saving more scraps!

Lovely pattern with great options. I would choose the tunic w/ the low u-neck. My daughter prefers jeans or leggings, so a tunic is great option if I want her to wear something hand knit!

I am so exited to purchase this pattern this morning! I am particularly keen on the first one but my four year old is most taken with the rainbow version :) So it will be a rainbow first off the needles closely followed by the first version for her cousin I think!
ReplyDeleteI will make the tunic style with the asymmetrical hem, one of these days!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to use one of Elena's lovely semis...but too many to choose- how to decide?
If anyone is wondering, this pattern is fab and really good value. I'm already planning my 3rd!
