I
have been seriously knitting and designing for 5 years now. It all started one unusually
cold winter in Vancouver, BC. Throughout the following years I was fortunate to
develop friendships with a number of people; people that helped make this career
path possible.
The
first of those people is my husband, Peter, who is very supportive and helps
whenever and however he can. With Peter
at my side I was set to venture further into the creative world of knitwear. From designing I naturally expanded into dying yarn; I could
not think of a better way to get the exact yarn and color for any of my new
designs I am dreaming of to get on my needles.
This is how Colour Adventures came to be. Soon after its conception, we
were pleased to see Color Adventures evolve to a point where it was no longer possible
for only me and Peter to operate.
I
am very fortunate to work with a group of very talented knitters who test-knit
my designs on a regular basis, always challenge me to be a better writer and
trust my ideas no matter how crazy they might seem. That is how I met Janet Harvey; she had
answered one of my testing calls a few years back, and we have been working
together ever since. To think it was only mere chance we met!
You
all know Janet by now, she has been an ever present force for all my designs
from the day we have met. She is always thoughtful, helpful, and supportive to
everyone; she is always upbeat, resourceful, and has a great sense of style.
So,
I am now very excited to officially add Janet as the newest member of
Anadiomena’s Designs (combined for both Knitting and Colour Adventures), where
she will be our Social Network Director/Coordinator, Tech Editor, Knitter
Extraordinaire, and a Super Friend!
Janet
has graciously agreed to help manage our website, blog, web albums, Facebook,
Twitter and Ravelry, just to name a few responsibilities. With Janet taking control
of social media, hopefully it’ll be easier to keep everyone updated on what’s
new and exciting in Knitting and Colour Adventures.
One
of the best things about having Janet on the team is the fact that she is like
me, she is passionate about knitting and loves to share her passion. Having Janet
join the team feels very natural, like it was meant to be. Together we’ll come
up with all sorts of other fun ideas to work on together, so things will no
doubt get exciting!
Anadiomena’s
Designs is growing and getting more and more organized. With Janet as another enthusiastic
team member things can only get better from here!
