KAL - Wild Vanilla - Featured Project from Wondrlanding

Eszter was taught the basics of knitting by her grandmother as a child, she has also learned a lot through books and more recently the internet.  Her grandmother was the perfect housewife; everything was neat around her, she was a wonderful cook, and also very creative: she knitted, crocheted and sewed for the whole family and home.  Eszter feels that she inherited a passion for the creative arts from her grandmother.   When Eszter was older there was was no doubt about what she wanted to do, so she went to a Secondary School of Applied Arts and studied Textile Design and later Architecture gaining a BSc in Hungary and a MSc in The Netherlands.  More recently she has also started to design and publish her own knitting patterns as well.

Eszter says it was the unusual construction of Wild Vanilla that immediately caught her attention. She loves how the cables guide the tailoring: a cable crossing closes the front at the neck and when the cables divide further down they also cut the piece open.
Wild Vanilla be the perfect garment for play school, since it allows for lots of unrestricted movement and playing, but it is so feminine at the same time, which is a very important thing to her daughters, because they already love clothes - even though they are only 3 years old!

Eszter further tells us that, "Making Wild Vanilla is great fun! It applies a variety of techniques – which are not complicated - but since they are applied in parallel, definitely keep you awake!  I recommend the pattern for knitters with some experience and/or the ones who like some challenge.
I have taken part in only a few KALs so far, but the last two were within Anadiomena’s Knitting Adventures group. It is a place for constant support, and a good sense of humor. I am already looking forward to the next KAL there! So count me in!
I am planning to make a second cardigan as soon as I can get more of this yarn in a different color, and I will take a photo of my other daughter (the little hairdresser) while wearing it.  Hopefully I’ll be able to take a photo of both of my twins in Wild Vanillas…..... especially if I can provide enough ice-cream!"
